Our History:
It all started back in 1983 in a rented space in Plainwell, Michigan. Eager to be one of the premier plastic injection mold builders in the Midwest, Tim Bickings founded our parent company, Custom Design. Nearly 10 years later, Custom Design moved down the road to its own facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and designs and builds plastic injection molds for some of the largest manufacturers in the medical, plumbing, lighting, automotive, and consumer goods industries.
Tired of seeing poorly made products that do not last, Tim started Custom Design Products USA in 2019. Along with sons Brent and Kevin and shop General Manager, Jim Heldt, our emphasis is on durable products for the home and garden that are made in the USA with materials that are sourced in the USA. We handle all aspects of what we sell from the idea, design, tooling, testing, and manufacturing. Our products come to fruition because one of us experienced a problem, looked for a solution, and could not find one that existed or was worth buying due to it being cheaply made.
